Known to his audience as "The Jinni", Ra'Shawn Vass is the founder of TRU Magic Entertainment. Extremely musically inclined at the age of 3, he began playing the piano and drums, as well as having been appointed lead vocalist of the youth choir in church. At age 6, Ra'Shawn aspired to become a rap artist, which was inspired by his superstar fellow Brooklyn natives, The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. A few years of perfecting the art of "off the head" style rapping, he had a reputation for recording tracks with 1 or 2 takes. He then earned the name, "The Veteran" and stuck with it. By age 13, he was asked to feature on a track with Artist/Producer, Buddha Monk of Brooklyn Zoo and The Wu Tang Clan. Although things appeared to be heading for the sky, family issues divided Ra'Shawn from music a few months later. After dropping music completely for most of his teenage years, Ra'Shawn adopted the name "The Jinni" as he came back on to the music scene. He quickly landed his first performance which was a showcase hosted by Astro/Genesis Records, and aired on Brooklyn's "BCAT" Time Warner cable channel in November 2009. This was immediately following the erection of TRU Magic Music Group (founded August 1, 2009). Milestones quickly topped one another for both TRU Magic and The Jinni, as they headlined College Concerts and opened up for Industry artists. Since then, The Jinni has accumulated rather astonishing achievements as an independent artist, producer and engineer such as; Exclusively featured on two Compilation CD's for the 5-time MTV DJ of the year award winner, "DJ Wats". (2013) Composed and Performed a Sponsored theme song for the 2012 Obama Re-election Campaign. Executive Producer of the Movie Soundtrack to "Brotherhood Code of The Streetz". Composed the Radio Single "Famous", which made it's exclusive national debut on Mafia Radio, own by "Mafia" magazine. (2013 ) Composed the Radio Single "For The Money" played on stations Power 99 (PA) and Power 105.1 (NY) 2010.
